Articles of Incorporation

The purpose of the institute is to conduct holistic, specialized, and fundamental research on the interrelationships among the atmosphere, land, rivers, lakes, oceans, and human activities related to the protection and sustainability of the Earth's ecosystems and environment, and to contribute to the protection and sustainable use of the global environment.

We conduct survey and study on the following and take action:

  1. forests, grasslands and fields;
  2. rivers and lakes;
  3. geology and groundwater;
  4. oceans and adjacent land;
  5. agriculture, forestry and fisheries and related industries;
  6. impacts of cities and industries on ecosystems and the environment;
  7. historical, sociological, economic, and cultural anthropological research related to each of the preceding items;
  8. organize seminars, events, workshops, and international symposiums based on the research and studies described in the preceding items;
  9. publish books and undertake public relations activities;
  10. carry out activities described in the preceding items.
